This winter became a bit easier for forcibly displaced families from Nagorno-Karabakh living in harsh and cold conditions, thanks to the collaboration between World Vision Armenia (WVA) and Ucom. This time, as part of their partnership, World Vision Armenia’s Director Raffi Doudaklian and Ucom’s CEO Ralph Yirikian joined forces to support our displaced compatriots.
The cooperation memorandum signed between the organizations aimed to assist displaced families living in the Vardenis, Gegharkunik, Syunik, and Tavush regions, where the hardships of winter are felt most. Thanks to Ucom’s 20 million AMD donation, the following support was provided in these regions:
- Winter clothing for 700 individuals
- Heaters for 150 families
- Bedding for 200 families
This initiative was launched through the combined efforts of Ucom’s employees and the company itself. Employees raised 10 million AMD, which the company matched. This generous donation underscores that humanitarian solidarity is more than just material aid.
Beyond financial support, Ucom employees also participated as volunteers, visiting Vardenis to personally deliver the aid and get acquainted with the everyday lives and challenges of the displaced families.
One mother from a displaced family noted, “This kind of support is very important for us. We felt that we are not alone in this struggle.” The support packages indeed hold great significance, but the human attention and care are the most precious gifts, helping families find strength and hope to overcome current difficulties. Through this partnership, hundreds of people received essential assistance to help them endure the harsh winter months ahead.
“Ucom is a people-centered company, and we believe in the power of good deeds. Alongside other initiatives we undertake for community welfare, we want to provide a sense of security to our compatriots. We want those forcibly displaced from Artsakh to know they are not alone and that together we will stand strong,” emphasized Ralph Yirikian, adding that the partnership with World Vision Armenia is much more than just a donation; it is a testament to the importance of spreading kindness and solidarity.
“World Vision Armenia is committed to providing help to as many people as possible, and Ucom’s donation came at just the right time. We have spared no effort to ensure that the aid acquired through this donation reaches those who need it most with transparency and accountability. During these difficult days, uniting around social responsibility is paramount, and we welcome every step towards enhancing community well-being,” said Raffi Doudaklian, Director of World Vision Armenia.
Initiatives like this demonstrate that achieving goals is possible through united efforts. The employees and leaders of World Vision Armenia and Ucom affirm that every small step has significant meaning in supporting our compatriots during this difficult period.
This collaboration is more than just assistance; it is a message of hope, solidarity, and unity for all those facing challenging conditions.
